DA HIKE BY 6%

After a long wait of Punjab Government employees, Government has finally announced 6% hike in dearness allowance. At present dearness allowance of Punjab Government employees is 132%. Now with this 6% hike it becomes 138% and it will be paid with salary and pension of February month. As government have already given 5% interim relief w.e.f 1-1-17, let us see what an amount of pay will increase with this 6% dearness allowance.

Suppose your basic pay is 20000/-{pay band(15600)+grade pay(4400)}, so 5% interim relief of this basic pay is 1000/-. Then

Basic Pay+ Interim relief = 21000/-(i.e 20000+1000).

Now 6% of (basic pay+Interim Relief)= 21000*6/100=1260/-

             So with increase of 6% of dearness allowance, your pay will be increased by an amount of Rs. 1,260/-.

Here are some employees who don't know their basic pay. As salary of all of the employees are online now. So you can check your basic pay in your payslip by logging onto website hrms.punjab.gov.in. On entering your login Id, password and captcha text, you will be logged in. Now Just go to My Services, click on 'Payslip', select month and click on view report. Your basic pay will be displayed. 

   Please note that your User Id is 6 digit EHRMS Code and if you have not changed your password then by default it will be first three letters of your name in capital followed by your year of birth. For example if my name is Amandeep Singh and date of birth is 09-03-1990, then in this case password will be AMA1990.
